Andrea Wilson
Principal

B Arch (Hons) / B Fine Art / RAIA
Andrea is ARM’s most senior designer of interiors on cultural, educational, public and commercial buildings, focusing on materials and how they perform. Architecturally trained, her work is more than decorative; interior elements integrate with architecture to tell a story – there’s always a narrative that unifies the spaces and materials. Early career years as a fine artist bring a rich cultural grounding to Andrea’s practice which is based on thorough research and a vast knowledge of materials.
Workshopping selections with clients is an immersive experience – holding and feeling them, understanding their tactility. She loves every aspect of colour and pattern – bold, subtle, nuanced – for the way they carry meaning. Often, atypical selections are at work in the incredible interiors she creates, notably Sydney Opera House Concert Hall Redevelopment and Monash University Chancellery.
“Better quality doesn’t always come with a higher price tag. We’re designing buildings to last a very long time and my knowledge makes a difference.”
