Melbourne Recital Centre

The Recital Centre revolutionised classical music in Melbourne. Before it, the city’s chamber musicians were performing in whatever rooms they could find. ARM worked with fifty of the most influential voices in acoustic music to design a building that is, literally, an instrument. Acoustically perfect, it serves more than 500 concerts a year.

"Elisabeth Murdoch Hall is even better than London's Wigmore Hall and the most dramatic thing to happen to music-making in Melbourne. The hall is the most important instrument in any concert performance."
