Geelong Design Week 19-29 October

ARM will take part in two events for this year’s Geelong Design Week, taking place 19–29 October.

This is Public: Designing Geelong

Friday 20 October
4.30pm-6.00pm

This is Public: Designing Geelong will focus on how good design is shaping Geelong’s architecture and public realm and giving back to the Geelong community. The talk will look at the design of three key Geelong projects—the Geelong Arts Centre, the Geelong Library and the Wurriki Nyal Civic Precinct—addressing their effect on the city at an urban scale.

Designing with Wadawurrung: Geelong Arts Centre

Thursday 19 October
10am-11.30am

Designing with Wadawurrung will examine the incorporation of First Peoples’ knowledge and culture into the design of the new Geelong Arts Centre.

This panel discussion will look at the process involved in working meaningfully with Traditional Owners and how this consultation has been translated into the design of the Geelong Arts Centre through the inclusion of Wadawurrung stories and culture and First Nations artworks. ARM Principal Jeremy Stewart will join the panel.
