Sydney College of the Arts

Sculpture, ceramics, screen arts, painting, printmedia and photomedia – diverse visual arts disciplines previously dispersed across the original Rozelle site are transplanted, along with the college’s distinctive culture, to a heritage building on the University of Sydney’s Camperdown campus. Striking a balance between preserving the site’s historical significance and integrating contemporary functionality, the repurposed building brings together students from different disciplines into a community of artists and makes possible greater collaboration and trans-disciplinary projects to enhance the overall student experience.

"While the design process was lengthy and complicated, due to the detailed nature of disciplinary studios and the gallery, the completed project has exceeded expectations in terms of its function as an art school and the predicted makeover of our external image. Mark and his team went to extraordinary lengths to capture the individual needs of each."
